Every IP has a history. The question is whose.
Blocks, CAPTCHAs and login challenges are almost never about your traffic. They're about what the address did before you got there — and on most proxies, that's either a blank you can't vouch for or a crowd you can't see. There are only three states an IP can be in.

What is a private proxy?
A private proxy is a proxy server that routes your traffic through an IP address allocated to you and nobody else. Requests leave from that address instead of your own, so the site you're visiting sees it rather than your home or office connection — and because no one else is issued the same address, whatever that site thinks of it is a judgement about your behaviour alone.
The word "private" gets used loosely in this market, which is where most of the confusion starts. Some sellers use it to mean encrypted. Others use it to mean "only a few people share it." The definition that affects your bill and your block rate is exclusivity — how many other customers are issued the same address at the same time as you.
A private proxy server and a dedicated proxy server are the same thing; the two names describe the same arrangement from different angles, one naming who else has access and the other naming how the address is assigned. Private, semi-dedicated, shared
Three labels, one variable: how many people are on the address. It's worth checking which one you're actually buying, because the gap between them is where most unexplained blocks come from — and the labels aren't regulated. A listing that says "private" can still mean three users, so the number is the thing to look for, not the adjective.

The address is issued to one customer. Its reputation is a record of your traffic and nothing else, and nobody can get it blocked on your behalf.
Semi-dedicated
Sold at a discount and often still labelled "private". You can't see who the others are or what they're doing, and a target site can't tell your traffic from theirs.
Shared · public
Dozens or hundreds at once, or an open list anyone can use. Cheap or free, and appropriate only where being blocked costs you nothing.

Are your private proxies dedicated or semi-dedicated?
Dedicated, and we don't sell a semi-dedicated tier at any price. One customer holds the address at a time, so nobody else's traffic appears to come from it while you have it. That matters because "private" is used loosely in this market — plenty of listings labelled private are shared between two or three people.
Has anyone used my IP before I get it?
Most likely yes, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise. These addresses have been in our network since they were issued to us and have only ever gone to our own customers — never bought from a broker or a resale market. Between customers an address sits out of service for 90 days, so anything the previous holder did has had three months to go cold. If you want an address nobody has ever held, that's Fresh Dedicated IPs.
How many concurrent connections can I run?
As many as your tooling can drive. There's no thread ceiling and no rule that reduces your session count after you pass a usage threshold — a limit some providers apply quietly once you've moved a certain amount of data.
How do I authenticate?
With a username and password, issued in your client area alongside the hostname. There's no IP allowlisting to configure, which means the proxy keeps working when your own connection changes — useful if you work from a laptop, travel, or sit behind a dynamic address.
Which protocols and ports do you support?
Six protocols on the same address, with the same credentials — only the port changes. HTTP on 9080, HTTPS on 9443 and SOCKS5 on 8040 for proxy connections, plus OpenVPN, L2TP-IPsec and Softether if you'd rather bring a whole device up on it. Alternate SOCKS5 ports are listed in your client area for networks that block the default.
Can I use these for web scraping?
For light or targeted collection, yes — unlimited traffic and unlimited sessions mean nothing meters you. But one static address will hit rate limits on any site at real volume, no matter how clean it is. If you're collecting data at scale you want a pool that rotates, which is rotating residential proxies.
Can I use them to create new accounts?
We don't recommend it. These are built for accounts that already exist — signing up from an address with any prior history is a worse starting position than signing up from one with none. Use Fresh Dedicated IPs for account creation, then move the account onto a private dedicated IP for day-to-day work if you want to keep costs down.
Which countries can I get an IP in?
The United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany and France, all at the same price. We cover other locations case by case — ask us if the one you need isn't listed. Addresses are assigned within a country rather than a city or state.
How much do private dedicated proxies cost?

What happens if an IP stops working on a site I need?
Contact support and we'll swap it at no charge. Because the address is yours alone, its behaviour is traceable to your own traffic rather than inherited from someone you can't identify — which usually makes the cause obvious and the fix quick.
Is there a refund if it doesn't work out?
Yes — a full refund within five days of your original payment, with no usage threshold, so you can test it properly rather than tiptoeing around a data cap. What's the difference between a private proxy and a VPN?
A proxy routes chosen applications or requests through another address. A VPN routes and encrypts everything the device sends. Here it's the same IP either way: use it over HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5 as a proxy, or over OpenVPN, L2TP-IPsec or Softether as an encrypted connection with leak protection and a kill switch. There's no second subscription to buy.
Do you log what I do through the proxy?
No. We keep no activity logs and no connection logs — no traffic data, no DNS queries, nothing that identifies what you did or when. Our systems are built not to retain it, so there's nothing to hand over even if we were compelled to.
What can't I use a private dedicated proxy for?
Torrenting, email spam and anything illegal are prohibited outright. Beyond that, the honest limits are practical rather than contractual: no city or state targeting, and one address won't carry high-volume scraping. Everything else — account management, remote work, storefront operations, private browsing — is what they're built for.
